Emmy Awards Red Carpet 2010by Deidre Woollard

On a sunny Southern California Sunday, the stars were out in full force for the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards, which was held at the Nokia Theatre L.A. Live. The backdrop for NBC said "more colorful" and that's exactly what we got, color and lots of it. Sunny oranges and yellows, dramatic deep purples, sequins and more brought a lots of drama to the proceedings. Some of our favorite looks after the jump.

Host Jimmy Fallon and his wife, producer Nancy Juvonen, radiant in an orange gown, arrive at the 62nd Annual Primetime Emmy Awards.

No track suit tonight. Jane Lynch, nominated for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress - Comedy Series, is regally glamorous in a one-shoulder purple gown designed by Ali Rahimi for Mon Atelier.

Also stunning in purple was Emily Deschanel of the show "Bones," wearing tiered gown by Max Azria Atelier that some criticized for its lettuce-like folds.

Also in the color of the night, eggplant, was Kate Flannery of "The Office" in a Tadashi Shoji gown.

Julia Ormond demonstrates one of the perils of wearing pink, you clash with the red carpet.

One of the few to wear vintage, Keri Russell chose a Scherrer dress from Decades with platinum Cathy Waterman jewelry, and a Jennifer Behr hair accessory.

Maria Menounos wore a crystal beaded Ralph & Russo custom designed couture gown covered in thousand of Swarovski beads.

Kate Gosselin showed off her tanned and toned arms in a black halter neck gown with sequined details.

Not everyone was a fan of Betty White's two-piece pastel gown and pearls. Some deemed the rainbow sherbet-like gown not fashionable enough for the Emmy Awards.
